and pictures - for those who are not familiar with the story. The

this, and gives suggestions for further reading on the Clearances and
related subjects. The CLAN MAP
lets visitors find where in Scotland their surname or clan
originated. The CLAN HISTORY section takes a
brief look at the development of the Highland clan system, and the
origins & effects of the Clearances
themselves, in words and pictures. The HIGHLAND DRESS page tells a
little about the origins of Scottish
tartans and the wearing of the plaid. The CONTACT PAGE and PRINTS FOR
